In today's digital age, a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) has become a crucial tool for all types of government processes, online filing, tax submission, contract signing, and business document security. Types of DSC (Types of Digital Signature Certificates)
1. Class 1 DSC For basic signature verification. Used for simple tasks.
2. Class 2 DSC (now merged with Class 3) Earlier used for MCA, Income Tax, GST, PF, etc.
3. Class 3 DSC (Most Secure and Currently Used) For all high-level government/non-government functions. Essential for e-tendering, e-bidding, e-auctioning, etc.
Class 3 DSC is the most important and widely used certificate today.
How many types of DSCs are issued?
1. Individual DSC Issued in the name of an individual. Used for ITR, GST, PF, etc.
2. Organization DSC Issued in the name of a company or firm. Required for tenders and corporate purposes.
3. Document Signer DSC Used by large organizations for automated documents.
Validity of DSC
DSCs are generally available for two periods: 1 year, 2 years, 3 years (many agencies offer them as per new regulations).

How to use DSC?
1. Insert the USB Token into your computer.
2. Install the Token software.
3. Select the DSC in your browser or portal (GST, MCA, Income Tax, etc.).
4. Enter your password and sign.
